Armed Forces Medical College, Pune:  



AFMC Pune is one of India’s top medical colleges and is managed by the Indian Armed Forces. The college offers a host of undergraduate and post graduate courses in medicine, nursing and paramedical specialties with assured career prospects in the defense services.  It was set up in 1948 by an act of Parliament on the recommendations of the BC Roy Committee by various defense medical organizations.

A total of 125 students are taken in every year for the MBBS program. The course is for 4½ years and one year of internship. Students compulsorily have to serve as Commissioned Officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services for which the student/guardian need to execute a bond agreement at the time of admission.
