Job Profile - Constable ( Driver ) in SSB Sashastra Seema Bal

Eligibility:

Matriculation or Equivalent from a Recognized Board / University.
Must possess valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License.

Age Limit (as on 01‐08‐2013):23 to 28 years (Cut off date for age will be 1st August, 2013). Age relaxation is also applicable for reserved candidates ( See notification for more detail ).

Last Date of Receipt of Application: 01 August 2013 ( 01-08-2013 ) and 08-08-2013 for far flung areas.

Details: Applications are invited from male candidates who fulfill the following eligibility criterion for filling up the vacancies in the rank of Constable (Driver) in the pay scale of Rs. 5200-20200 in the grade pay of Rs.2000/- and other allowances admissible to Central Govt. employees from time to time in “Sashastra Seema Bal”. The last date of receipt of application is 01-08-2013. However, the closing date for receipt of applications (by post) for the candidates from North- Eastern States, Sikkim, Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba, Lahaul & Spiti and Kinnaur Districts of Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh Division, Kashmir of J&K State and the Union Territories of Anadaman and Nicobar islands and the Lakshadweep will be 08-08-2013.

Nationality/ Citizenship:-

A citizen of India, or
A Subject of Nepal, or
A subject of Bhutan.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b) and (c) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Note:

Vacancies reserved for Ex-Servicemen will be filled up by the candidate of open category if suitable candidates of Ex-Servicemen are not available.
The number of vacancies are subject to change without any notice and may increase or decrease depending upon the position at the time of final selection.
The posts are temporary but likely to be permanent.
The recruitment will be conducted on all India bases.
Selected candidates are liable to be posted any where within as well as outside the Territory of India according to transfer policy of the force.

Method of Recruitment: The selection process shall consist of following stages:-

Physical Standard Test ( PST)
Physical Efficiency Test ( PET)
Written Test
Driving/ Technical test ( Trade Test)
Final Medical Examination
Review Medical Examination

Enclosures required to be forwarded with application:-
Attested copies of:-

Educational certificates.
Date of birth certificate (Matriculation or 10th class certificate).
A photocopy of valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License.
SC/ST certificate as prescribed in Annexure-III (Subject to verification at any stage).
Latest OBC certificate on the format as prescribed in Annexure-IV. The OBC certificate produced other than Annexure-IV will not be entertained and their application will be summarily rejected.
2 self addressed envelopes of 4x9” size duly affixed with postage stamps of Rs. 25/- each on it.
Domicile Certificate issued by the revenue authority not below the rank of Tehsildar. West Pakistani Refugees settled in J&K are exempted to produce domicile certificate, they will produce certificate issued by the village Sarpanch/ Numberdar along with a copy of the Electoral Roll showing the name of the candidate in the voter list for election to the Parliamentary Constituency.
In case of Candidate subject to Nepal or Bhutan, a certificate of eligibly issued by Government of India.
Questionnaire Form as per Annexure- VI
Certificate if any for domicile in J&K during 01-01-1980 to 31-12-1989.
Certificate if any for 1984 riots or 2002 communal riots of Gujarat.
Annexure-V to avail relaxation in height and chest. (If applicable).

Application Fee: - Application fee will be Rs.50/- for candidates belonging to General and OBC categories. No fee will be charged from SC/ST and Ex-Servicemen candidates. The candidates shall attach the non refundable Bank Draft drawn in favour of Accounts Officer, FTR HQ, SSB, Siliguri, (West Bengal) ” payable at SBI Siliguri, Code No.0184.

How to apply:- Eligible and desirous candidates should send their applications BY POST in the prescribed proforma given in Annexure-I and II with two attested passport size photographs duly affixed on application form and admit card at the space provided for the purpose, along with application fee of Rs.50/-, attested copies of the testimonials as in Para-12. The applications should be typed or neatly hand written. Two self-addressed envelopes of 4”x9” size with Rs.25/- postage stamps duly affixed should also be attached with the application form. The candidates belonging to different States/UTs should send their application forms to the address
