1. Abide:


Meaning: To dwell, To remain, रहना, टिकना

Example: If there is anything I can not abide is their indiscipline.


2. Abject:


Meaning: Extremely bad, Unpleasant, बुरी स्थिति, नीच, कमीना

Example: The most abject slaves joined the revolt for freedom.


3. Abnegate:


Meaning: Refuse, To do away with, वंचित करना, अभिनिषेध करना

Example: The firm issues a proposal to abnegate temporarily the right to strike.


4. Abolish:


Meaning: Formally put an end to, terminate, समाप्त करना, रद्द करना

Example: Slavery was abolished with continued efforts of many great revolutionaries in America and Russia.


5. Abreast:


Meaning: Side by side, Facing the same way, साथ साथ, बराबर में

Example: The village path was broad enough for two people to walk abreast.


6. Abrupt:


Meaning: Unexpected, Sudden, अचानक, जिसकी आशा न हो

Example: I was surprised by the abrupt change in his behavior after leaving college.


7. Abscond:


Meaning: Leave or go away secretly, चुपके से भाग जाना

Example:  The accountant absconded with cash from the safe.


8. Abstain:


Meaning: Refrain from, do without, परहेज करना, दूर रहना

Example: I abstain from tobacco products and alcohol.


9. Absurd:


Meaning: Foolish, Illogical, मूर्खतापूर्ण, विवेकहीन

Example: He made absurd excuse that dog ate his notebook.


10. Abysmal:


Meaning: Bottomless, very deep, अथाह, पाताल

Example: I was frustrated of his abysmal stupidity.
