Follow steps below:
  1. Find the number midway between two numbers. (Eg. 24 * 26. Number midway between 24 and 26 is 25).
  2. Square this number. (25 * 25 = 625)
  3. Now subtract 1 and this is your answer. (625 -1 = 624, 24 * 26 = 624)
Follow examples below to understand it better:

Eg. 1: 

61 *59
Step -1 => Number between 61 and 59 is 60.
Step -2 => 60 * 60 = 3600.
Step -3 => 3600 - 1 = 3599
Hence 61 * 59 = 3599. (Ans)

Eg. 2: 

41 *43
Step -1 => Number between 41 and 43 is 42.
Step -2 => 42 * 42 = 1764
Step -3 => 1764 - 1 = 1763
Hence 41 * 43 = 1763. (Ans)
