BSNL is conducting direct recruitment for TTAs (Telecom Technical Assistants) through an Open competitive examination which will be held on 30-06-2013 for the proposed vacancies in each region.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
Age Limits: The applicant should be between 18 and 27 Years of age as on 13.05.2013. Candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC / PH and Ex Serviceman are eligible for relaxation in upper age limit as circular issued by Central Government from time to time .
However, this age is relaxable for following categories of applications 
  • For SC/ST candidates up to 05 years.
  • For OBC candidates up to 03 years.
  • For PH candidates up to 10 years(15 Years for SC/ST & 13 years for OBC).
For Departmental Candidates-
  • Up to 40 years in respect of General Candidates
  • Up to 45 years in respect of SC/ ST candidates
  • Up to 43 years in respect of OBC candidates.
For residents of J&K – relaxation shall be in accordance with DOP&T O.M No:15012/7/1991-Estt.(D) Dated : 6-12-2005 pertaining to “ Residents of State of Jammu & Kashmir (relaxation of upper age limit for recruitment to Central Civil Services & Posts) Rules,1997”.

Nationality: Only Indian Nationals would be eligible to apply.

Educational Qualifications: The Applicant must possess, as on the last date of receiving applications (i.e. 13-05-2013), the educational qualifications in any of the following disciplines from a recognized institute / university. 
  1.  Three years Engineering Diploma in 
  • Telecommunications Engineering
  • Electronics Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Radio Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Instruments Technology
  • Information Technology 
     2.    M.Sc. (Electronics)
Note :-
  •  Only such qualification and streams as prescribed in the Recruitment Rules of TTA-2001 may be allowed. There is no equivalence provided.
  •  Candidates possessing higher qualification in the eligible stream are allowed to appear in the examination.
  •  Candidates possessing Three Year Diploma certificates are eligible to appear in the Exam irrespective of percentage of marks obtained by them.
  • In case a candidates is possessing requisite educational qualification,irrespective of having entered the course in the 2nd Year through lateral entry level after 10+2, he/she will be eligible to appear in the exam.
The candidates whose academic results are awaited as on 13.05.2013 need not apply.

MODE OF SELECTION

The Telecom Technical Assistant (TTA) is a SSA cadre. Selection will be through a competitive Examination followed by a medical test. Appointment will be subject to police verification, successful completion of training and other usual formalities.  Candidates are required to submit application for one SSA only. Option once exercised for SSA shall be final. 
  • Minimum Qualifying marks in the paper will be 40% for the  candidates of unreserved communities and 33 % for the candidates of SC/ST/OBC categories. 
  • The minimum passing marks in each of the three parts of the paper will be 30% for OC and 20% for SC/ST/OBC categories. 
  • Relaxation of 2% in marks will be given to the Physically Handicapped Candidates in each category ( SC-PH , ST-PH, OBC-PH, OC-PH). 
  • There will be negative marking. For each wrong answer 25% of mark of that question  will be deducted.
Candidates obtaining less than minimum qualifying marks shall not be considered for inclusion in the merit list of SSAs. The appearance of the name in the merit list does not confer any right to the candidates for employment. A successful candidate will, however, get appointment letter/call letter strictly depending upon his/her position in the merit list drawn on the basis of his/her performance in the opted/applied SSA to the extent of vacancies in that SSA.  

EXAMINATION FEE
 Rs.500/- only is chargeable from the applicants through Demand Draft  payable to Accounts Officer,  of concerned BSNL,SSA.
Fee remitted by Money Order or cheque will not be accepted. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances nor can it be held in reserve for any other examination or selection. Applicants belonging to the SC/ST communities only are exempted from the examination fee. Exemption from payment of examination fee is also available to the applicants of PH category. This exemption will, however be available to only those handicapped persons who would otherwise be eligible for appointment to the post on the basis of the standards of medical fitness prescribed for that post and who enclose with the application form, necessary certificate from a Govt. hospital /medical board in support of his /her claim being handicapped. 

PROBATION PERIOD
The candidates appointed shall remain on probation for a period of two years (liable to be extended by appointing authority)
