1. Aback:


Meaning: Backward, Behind, By surprise, पीछे, चकित करना

Example: I was taken aback by his caustic remarks.


2. Abandon:


Meaning: Leave behind, Give up completely, त्याग देना, जाने देना

Example: We found an abounded car in the backyard of an old farm house


3. Abase:


Meaning: To lower, To humiliate, Cause to feel shame, अपमानित करना, नीचा दिखाना

Example: He abased him by abusing him in from of his colleagues.


4. Abash:


Meaning: Cause to feel embarrassed, to put to shame, लज्जित करना

Example: He was the man whom no check could abash.


5. Abate:


Meaning: Become less intense or widespread, put an end to, शांत करना, समाप्त करना

Example: The storm suddenly abated.


6. Abdicate:


Meaning: To renounce one's throne, त्यागना, छोडना

Example: The aging founder of the firm decided to abdicate.


7. Abduct:


Meaning: Take away illegally or by force, अपहरण करना

Example:  Chief Minister's son was abducted.


8.Aberrant:


Meaning: Deviate from the right way, पथभ्रष्ट, गुमराह

Example: It was aberrant of him to resign a Govt job.


9. Abeyance:


Meaning: State of temporary suspension or temporary pause, दुविधा, लटकाव

Example: His court case was held in abeyance pending further police inquiry.


10. Abhor:


Meaning: Regard with disgust or dislike, घृणा करना

Example: He abhor dogs and cats.
