Reasoning Ability Practice Test Sample Paper - 2 for SBI PO 2015 with Answer Key and Solution

Here is solved questions of reasoning for SBI PO and IBPS exams. Reasoning questions are asked in almost all examinations and candidates need to practice this section very hard to score good marls and hence good position in merit list. Directions for Q. 1 - 6- Read the information carefully to answer the given questions -
During one week, a human resource director conducts five interviews for a new job, one interview per day, Monday through Friday. There are six candidates for the job- Rajan, Sachin, Tarun, Asha, Vanya and Kunal. No more than two candidates are interviewed more than once. Neither Sachin nor Asha nor Vanya is interviewed more than once, and no other candidate is interviewed more than twice. The schedule of interviews is subject to the following conditions:
(i). If Tarun is interviewed, then he must be interviewed on both Monday and Friday.
(ii). If Sachin is interviewed, then Asha is also interviewed, with Sachin's interview taking place earlier than Asha's interview.
(iii). If Ranjan is interviewed twice, then Rajan's second interview takes place exactly two days after Rajan's first interview.
(iv). If Vanya is interviewed, then Kunal is interviewed twice, with Vanya's interview taking place after Kunal's first interview and before Kunal's second interview.
(v). If Asha is interviewed, than Rajan is also interviewed, with Asha's interview taking place on a day either immediately after a day on which Rajan is interviewed.

If Vanya is interviewed on Tuesday, then by (iv), Kunal's first interview takes place on Monday and his second interview on any one of the remaining three days. Thus, only two more interviews may be held. So, Sachin cannot be interviewed because if Sachin is interviewed, then Asha is also interviewed and if Asha is interviewed, then Rajan is also interviewed.

Since Vanya's interview makes Kunal's interview compulsory, so if Kunal is not interviewed, then Vanya must also not be interviewed.
Thus, only two possibilities arise for the five interviews to be held:
I. Tarun twice (Monday and Friday), Rajan twice (Tuesday and Thursday), Asha once (Wednesday).
II. Arun twice ( Monday and Friday), Sachin once ( Tuesday), Asha once ( Wednesday or Thursday), Rajan once ( Wednesday or Thursday).
So in both cases, Tarun is interviewed on Monday.

Since Sachin's interview takes place earlier than Asha's interview, so Asha cannot be interviewed on Monday. So (B) is false.
If Sachin is interviewed, then Asha is also interviewed and if Asha is interviewed, then Rajan is also interviewed.
So, only two more candidates apart from Sachin, Asha and Rajan can be interviewed. If Vaanya is interviewed, then Kunal is interviewed twice, which is not possible. So, (C) is false.
If Sachin is interviewed on Thursday, then by (ii), Asha must be interviewed on Friday. this makes condition (v) impossible so (D) is false
and only (A) is true.

If Kunal is interviewed on Wednesday than from (iv) Vanya must be interviewed on either Thursday and Kunal interviewed on Friday or Tuesday and Kunal again interviewed on Monday. From (ii) Rajan cannot be interviewed twice on consecutive days so (D) is false.
