Tamil Nadu Sub Inspector Recruitment 2015 Selection Procedure, Exam Pattern, Marking Scheme and Stages of Recruitment




TNUSRB is recruiting sub inspectors in 2015 in Tamil Nadu Police Subordinate Service through direct recruitment drive. Here is complete syllabus, selection procedure, exam pattern and marking scheme for stages of recruitment for TNUSRB sub inspectors in Police.

Selection Procedure for TNUSRB Sub Inspector Recruitment:-

  • All the eligible candidates will be called for Written Examination.
  • Amongst the candidates clearing the Written Examination, the number of candidates called for second stage of Certificate Verification, Physical Measurement Test, Endurance Test and Physical Efficiency Tests will be in the ratio of 1:5 i.e. the number of candidates called for second stage will be restricted to 5 times the number of vacancies in each quota/category.
  • Only the candidates clearing the Certificate Verification will be allowed to participate in Physical Measurement Test.
  • The candidates who qualify in Physical Measurement Test alone will be allowed to attend Endurance Test.
  • The candidates who qualify in Endurance Test alone will be allowed to attend Physical Efficiency Test.
  • Candidates who qualify in Physical Efficiency Test will be called for Viva-Voice in the ratio of 1:2 i.e. the number of candidates called for Viva-Voice will be restricted to 2 times the number of vacancies in each quota/category.

Marking Scheme/ Marking Distribution:

  • For Open Quota Candidates

    1 Written Examination 70 Marks
    2 Physical Efficiency Test 15 Marks
    3 Special Marks 5 Marks (NCC 2 marks, NSS 1 mark, Sports 2 marks)
    4 Viva-voice 10 Marks
    Total 100 Marks

  • For Departmental Quota Candidates
    Sr. No Tests Marks
    1 Written Examination 85 Marks
    2 Special Marks 5 Marks National Police Duty Meet Gold - 5 Marks Silver - 3 Marks, Bronze - 2 Marks
    4 Viva-voice 10 Marks
    Total 100 Marks

Examination Pattern for Written Examination:

  •  The Written Examination will be conducted at 32 District Headquarters. 
  • Written Examination comprises of one paper containing objective type questions.
  • The subjects covered in Written Examination are as follows:
A) For Open Quota Candidates:-
1. The duration of the Written Examination will be 2 hours 30 minutes.
2. Minimum pass marks is 35% of 70 marks i.e. 25 marks.

2. Minimum pass marks is 35% of 85 marks i.e. 30 marks.
